MSV Symptoms
These can vary from severe to mild-looking:
- on the same plant
- in the same field in the same type of plants
- between varieties.
depending on:
- position of leaf on the plant (newest leaves often have milder symptoms)
- time of infection of neighbouring plants (later infected plants often show milder
symptoms)
- inherent resistance in the maize plant (ranges from complete susceptibility to almost
complete immunity)
